Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to determine whether there is an increase in employee knowledge and attitudes about hypertension before and after providing health education using TikTok social media at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Toll.
Methodology: This study uses a quasi-experimental quantitative research type with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The sample was taken using nonprobability sampling as many as 60 samples. The analysis used an Independent T-test with a significance of α<0.05.
Findings: The average value of knowledge in the pre-test was 7.00 and the post-test was 8.00, indicating a difference in the average value between the pre-test and post-test results. The average value of attitude in the pre-test was 18.77 and the post-test was 20.27. Thus, it can be said that there is a difference between the pre-test and post-test with an increase in the post-test results after education using TikTok social media.
Limitation: A limitation of this study is the use of a simple design without a comparison group between participants who received education and those who did not.
Contribution: This study shows that health education through TikTok social media can be an effective innovation for health workers in conducting counseling, especially to improve the knowledge and attitudes of the community, in this case employees.
