OVERVIEW OF THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF CHRONIC KIDNEY FAILURE PATIENTS IN THE HEMODIALYSIS ROOM OF DR. DORIS SYLVANUS HOSPITAL

Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to determine the description of the quality of life of chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at Dr. Doris Sylvanus Hospital.
Methodology: This study uses a quantitative method with a descriptive design and a sampling method, namely purposive sampling, and uses the KDQOL-SF 36 questionnaire as a research instrument. The research data were then processed to determine the percentage studied using the SPSS program.
Findings: The description of the quality of life of chronic kidney failure patients is in the moderate category, totaling 74 people (69.2%). Based on age characteristics, most are at the age of 51-60, namely 42 people (39.3%). The gender that most often undergoes hemodialysis is male, 57 people (53.3%). The last education is mainly in the high school category, namely 50 people (46.7%). Based on the duration of hemodialysis, the period is <12 months, with 40 people (37.4%). Moreover, the comorbidities experienced are hypertension, namely 58 people (54.2%).
Limitation: The limitation of this study is the limited time in collecting data, so this study only captures momentary conditions without considering the possibility of changes that occur over time.
